MUSIC

 Hayes is well known for the quality and breadth of its music. Music pervades school life and there is a wealth of opportunities available.   We have a thriving programme of extra-curricular events, with four choirs, two jazz bands, a concert band, a string group, a music tech club, and jam club and numerous opportunities for forming chamber and rock groups. 

  The Music Department present at least six concerts in school every year, and also perform in the local community and further afield: every year our musicians go on tour, with our most recent tour taking place in Saxony, Germany. We collaborate regularly with the Drama department on a large-scale musical production, providing musical direction and a live band.

  MusicFest is a twice yearly event where students of all ages can sign up and perform - a sort of Open Mic night, if you like. Famous for its highly eclectic range of performances, MusicFest is a brilliant opportunity for students to showcase new ideas and pieces and to gently enter the world of public performance
